The lighthouse still houses its original first-order Fresnel lens. Even though the role of lighthouse keeper has been obsolete for decades, there remains a lot of interest in walking inside these elegant buildings, climbing their rounded staircases and looking across the sweep of ocean blue while the giant eye of a Fresnel lens spins.
